About

James T. Fishback is a candidate for governor of Florida, a business owner, and a self-described constitutional conservative. A fourth-generation Floridian, he was born and raised in Davie and now lives in the Florida Panhandle with his wife. Fishback says he entered the race because of concerns about Florida’s cost of living, the loss of farmland, housing affordability, and the expansion of data centers. His campaign also emphasizes public safety, education, small businesses, and constitutional rights.

Top Priorities

Data Centers and Natural Resources: Ban new data centers statewide to protect Florida’s land, water supply, energy costs, and surrounding communities Housing Affordability: Eliminate property taxes for Florida residents, restrict private-equity purchases of single-family homes, lower insurance and association costs, and expand down-payment assistance Public Safety and Constitutional Rights: Support law enforcement, address homelessness and youth crime, strengthen election security, and protect speech, gun-ownership, privacy, and states’ rights
